Cannot assign 2 different photos to Home Screen and Lock Screen through Photos
Which version of the software are you running?
21.05.0-rel.1
What happened?
- Settings
- Display
- Wallpaper
- select Photos from the options presented (Live wallpapers, Photos and Wallpapers)
- select random photo
OR
- longpress on the Homescreen
- select Wallpapers
- in the Select a photo screen, select a random photo
THEN
- Set Wallpaper
-> Photo is on both Home and Lock screen
Expected behavior
After Set Wallpaper, present a choice:
- Home screen
- Lock screen
- Home screen and lock screen
This is what used to happen in Android 7, if/when the photo was selected through Settings.
Steps to reproduce
See above.

Is there a workaround?
In Settings, instead of choosing to select from the Photos option, choose to select from Wallpapers:
- Settings
- Display
- Wallpaper
- select Wallpapers from the options presented (Live wallpapers, Photos and Wallpapers)
- select wallpaper from "history banner" or select random photo using the My photos option
- Set Wallpaper
- select:
- Home screen
- Lock screen
- Home screen and lock screen
-> It works!
Note:
- The "history" only shows wallpapers set after being selected through the Wallpapers option.
- The "history" does not present wallpapers set through the "Photos" option, as described under What happened.
So it seems that both presenting the option for selecting a wallpaper screen and saving the wallpaper for future selection are features limited to selecting a wallpaper photo from Wallpapers vs selecting a wallpaper photo from Photos.
